Some people here just look for words...
Forget them, also many are just depressed of the Master Key dissaster....
Keep doing your work, i'm interessted in which this will lead to.
Hope some new "hidden" features will come out / get revealed =)
Relax people!!!
everyone is sore because of the master key hoax, and now people are losing faith in anything posted.
Great work guys, all the best and hope you achieve the ultimate goal.

I for one really appreciate the work you are doing on this.
Try not to be to disheartened by peoples reactions here as there is a lot of us watching your great progress that are not saying much as we have nothing useful to add (except our praise lol)
As for all you guys saying this is not custom firmware. As he says once we have write access to the NAND it will be but till then it is what it is. A work in progress. ALSO correct me' if I am wrong but the slim ps3's have a much smaller NAND than the phat ps3's have and due to the a fair portion of the FIRMWARE is written to the slims internal hardrive. So going by the logic of all you guys saying it is not a firmware as some files are on a USB drive means the ps3 slim has no firmware. Come on guys get your heads out your asses. This is amazing work guys at least give the guys a bit of appreciation
+1 i agree with this. i personally think the guys behind this are doing great things, all this negativity comes from people who couldnt achieve this themselves so they bitch and call it fake. im very much looking forward to seeing future builds of this, good luck guys and keep doing what your doing!
Exactly, Thankyou!
Some people do not know that the newest PS3 slim models have only 16MB of flash memory with the rest stored on HDD, so I firmly believe that these files read from HDD on a normal slim PS3 as standard are still considered firmware? am I wrong? Aslo people have discovered when dumping actual flash chips from phat ps3s that they can only dump exactly the same amount, 16MB. So maybe this so called "firmware" is not firmware at all , maybe if you researched this yourselves you would see that this is an Operating System.
Maybe in the begining it was true firmware stored on 100% flash, but now things have changed, but it still kept the name - Firmware.
Also if you think about it the USB sticks are flash memory too, the only difference is that its on the outside of console ,not on main board, and of course the most important difference is that we can write to it. So lets say a payload was released that redirected dev_flash to USB on bootup, would you consider it "firmware" then? keep in mind that some "firmware" is already stored on a SATA HDD!
Do you understand where the PS3 firmware is actually stored?
I dont know why you and Derr would say this is useless when all these extra debug options are already enabled, why does the way its loaded make it useless?
I for one am interested in using all debug options one day as I can not afford a PS3Test console.

Devil303. Hope you and your crew/team are having fun at trying to free this black box.
Appreciate your efforts and as you've noticed lots of people are quick to be negative & criticise... It's just internet forum mentality and also usually dick heads.
Best of luck with the project and hope it leads to something great.
I for one, have been following this site for a while now, as I did with the psp scene a while back, with the obvious: Dark-Alex.
Never really had the intent on registering or posting things, but seeing all these people who are impatient, always asking the same questions, and trolling, just pisses me off to no end.
But I finally made an account, just to be heard. To tell you guys, and all the devs out there, working hard for the public benefit and PS3 scene:
Thank you. I follow your work silently, and watch and wait with patience, as do many others around the world.
I appreciate everything you, and all the others are promoting and devoting into this project.
And I'll continue to wait as I should. If it weren't for devs like you guys, there would be nothing to wait on to begin with...
