When I attempt to use "remote play" it will only remotely connect to my PS3 if my PS3 is OFF first.
If my PS3 is already on (doing nothing just sitting on the xmb), then the PSP fails to connect to it everytime.
I receive a connection timeout error.
This occurs no matter if I attempt it by connecting directly to the PS3 (straight timeout error) or through my wireless network. (the PSP successfully obtains an IP address from the network but then times out trying to connect to the PS3)
This isn't that big of deal since it will work if the PS3 was previously off,
but I really didn't want to lhave to leave the "allow external power on" button checked on the PS3. (which I now have to do as the PSP has to initiate power on for the connection to be made) My understanding is that other people have had router issues that can cause spontaneous power ups even when you aren't using your PSP.
Anyone with any ideas why remote play won't just work if the PS3 is already on?
I tested it in all possible ways. I do not work.
Has anyone any idea?
PSP CFW 5.50 Prometheus
this is somewhat off-topic but it relates. i have been messing around, and im thinking it might be possible to download a PSN classic, and then move it to the ps3 w/ ftp and then play it, but getting it installed might be tricky. does anyone know how you could do this?
You need to set up a static network. E.g., assigning an IP address on your PS3 and then put that IP address on your router. Repeat the same step for your PSP.
If the IP addresses of your network are not manually assigned, then your network will assign a random IP address (e.g. 192.168.2.x) for your PS3 whenever it turns on. This is assuming that you have more than 2 devices connected to your router, of course.
Is there a list of games that CAN be remote play enabled?
I have tried with Call of Duty Classics and Battlefield 1943.
Neither of these would work with remote play after editing there PARAM.SFO files.
COD World at War and Motorstorm won't save the remote play changes to PARAM.SFO.
Any ideas why?![]()
The reason why some games work remote play and others dont is because some of the SFO's have the "ATTRIBUTE" tag. If the attribute tag is set to yes (1 or 5) or no (0), it can be enabled. If the tag is non-existent then you need to find a way to add it. I have tried a couple ideas to add the tag but so far the games have not run. I know MGS4 works, 3d dot game works, I know uncharted 2 and FF13 dont work right now but I'm still trying to play with those. FF13 doesnt even open in the SFO editor.
Thanks SirAwesomeson, that gave me some understanding of whats happening.
Call of Duty Classic works with remote play.

Apparently some games just dont work with Remote Play hack…..I just tried God of War 3 and it reboots back into the XMB…but other games worked…..
Ok, so apparently the name of the thread is misleading, and many games don't work even if sfo is edited and some others don't allow to change needed parameter / don't react on it.
Two questions follow.
1) Then theoretically, is it possible to really enable remote play for any game using some tricks in the future, or it's something that's hardcoded in game code and no trick will be able to enable it in principle? In short, can we hope?
2) Is it possible currently to remote play backups (of the games that are compatible of course or can be tricked) from ordinary PC and without using PSP??
It would be amazing to have an ability to "play" ps3 games on pc (during work breaks f.e., or if TV is not accessible, etc.)
Thanks!
