Now graf is not a pirate and his development is to add the feature which Sony removed even though they marketed the PS3 as having this function.
There is currently a class action suit against Sony for the removal of this feature.

Now another part of this is that in the EU Sony claim that the Sony PS3 is a computer rather than an entertainment device this means that they pay a lot less taxes. But since they removed the Other OS feature it can no longer be classed as a computer and as such should have to pay the EU the back taxes. If it was indeed a computer then Graf's development on the PS3 is not illegal.

I personally have no sympathy for him, the hacking scene has been underground for years..I personally don't understand why he was trying to get famous/credit through hacking. I remember days when things were released anonymously and through third parties via IRC and other means.

General life lesson: There's always someone older and more experienced than yourself that will tell you that "the days of old" you personally remember aren't all that old, and you aren't all that correct about them either.

I'm one such someone. Hackers have always done things for peer recognition in their own circles. That peer recognition has usually been attached to nicknames and not real names, but that's still a recognizable persona.

Contrary to your post, graf_chokolo seems indeed to be a true hacker of old in his approach. I'm not surprised, that culture is much stronger in Europe in general. There's a reason fail0verflow are mostly Europeans and disclosed their findings, as is prudent, at a CCC event.

**** sony. they are raiding because thats all they can do. Luckily i'm not graf or my house would be rigged to kill invaders (shotgun rigged to door?) and i wouldn't be living there.. prob be a thousand miles away with my new computers at someone house that cant be traced ( a friend/family i dont talk to they wouldn't know to be at).

**** sony. Graf just needs to be somewhere else but his home. If he goes to court with them then they will stop raiding his house (because they cant then because they are in a case). If you don't want to get in a court case, then your choices are paragraph 1) (moving away without no one knowing where u are anonymous style but we think you are home) or
2) hit anonymous up (didnt they say not to attack geo and graf in their message?)

P.S. to fight the system im selling 3.55 hacked with 2000+ roms and games. i wil have some with 500 gb with 50 games internal and perhaps a tb with 100 ps3 games also soon. So check those out 2.

rofl anonymous is a joke. They go and make a public statement how they're going to take down sony servers, and they do it for what a day? and they feel like they accomplished something? lol they're like little toddlers throwing a temper tantrum that last a few minutes. They should be embarrased to ever mention their name again.
