I hope this doesn't die off like the Xbox 1 and 360 ones did.
Hopefully AerialX is watching this topic... am I missing something important, a caveat, sys version or..? The self from the first post/git just crashes my PS3 when I try to use it with self loader.
edit:\ after hours of fighting with cygwin and the toolchain build scripts, my own build also crashes the PS3 (totally non-responsive crash in both cases, pulling the plug on the slim was the only way to recover - also note I've tried with various payloads, PL3 dev flavor from a couple days ago and today, hermes payload and a couple other old builds I had in my hex folder.)
Guys with cygwin, just wanted to point you to the other possibility:
VirtualBox (Sun Microsystems) => it's free. (heck, it even GPL now)
"Guys with cygwin" IMHO cygwin is a giant PoS, but can get the job done if you have a few hours to waste doing odd things like figuring out why building kammy launcher starts windows calculator (hint, sub the app bc for calc.)
It's been a while since I've tried virtual box and it looks like it has come a fair way, though the biggest problem I've always had with VM is guest integration with the host... more often than not samba has failed for me, and in this case I'm not sure the guest would catch the necessary udp packets.
Any rate, not about to sign up to twitter to let AerialX know about this, especially if anyone else has had anything other than a crash running the self.
edit/ fix was committed yesterday, and all is well with a fresh built self.
Looks like NZHawk and Darkhacker have been very busy working on a game library for PSL1GHT:
It's amazing to see how fast the PS3 scene as come along in such a short period of time.
New game lib for psl1ght! Me and darkhacker have been working on this for a while!

Excellent news to see this project expand so rapidly. Friends, lay down those Sony SDKs. I wonder if I can get this environment setup correctly in otherOS, hmm...
i don't think there would be any problem with it. although limited ram might cause issues during toolchain build - gcc takes a lot of ram when it's being built.
