If you have problems with backups try different backupmanagers. Rogeros didin't work in my case only got black screen but multiman works like a dream.

find the connection, properties, share it with the ethernet, (probably named local area connection), then you should be good to go.
also make sure port 21 is open on your firewall expception port list ;D
