Hey, you're right! Don't get all high-and-mighty with us, Sony, you manufactured the /first/ piracy device.

It would be their word against georges.....who you think would win that one?
Uhh, it's not their word against Georges at all..we have this thing called evidence. If you've ever seen how an agency forensically checks a computer you would know they document everything...and destruction of evidence is a serious crime. If the cops raided his house and destroyed it while doing the raid or before it got to Court, then it would be george's word vs. the cops but you can bet Hotz' attorney is going to catalog the shit out of everything, timestamps, hashes etc...and he might even file something else before this happens.
BTW, think this Judge maybe rules in Sony's favor because she was born in ****ing Japan?!!?
Based on her previous rulings I'd say she's a RIAA hound:

Geohot should encrypt the hell out of his hard drive with the highest encryption available, then turn it over and make sony try and fail to circumvent his security.

Using their keys too, that should really confuse them.
How very convenient that her webpage at the Supreme Court site can't be found at it's normal link location, you have to search the site.

Actually there is a piece of information that, as far as they know, NOT out there somewhere. How to real sign a NPDRM self.
And so they were waiting on getting that TRO to release the firmware to block his fake signing.
Now geo can't release it, and he cant help anyone else release it.

Now that would make headlines! Sony fails to crack the security of a hackers computer files! Asks him for help!

It will be better if he wins this way rather than the case just getting thrown out on lack of evidence

The next sentence is true. The previous sentence is false.

They have no proof it's not already out there. Just because he didn't announce its release doesn't mean he didn't stash it online somewhere under a different name...or that someone else doesn't have the info. There are plenty of devs with more info than they are releasing, just look at Math. and his stuff.
