Team-Xecuter behind Minimus AVR USB!
Team-Xecuter behind Minimus AVR USB! –
09-08-2010,02:32 PM
It has been found out today, that the Team-Xecuter factory are the ones behind the "MinimusUSB" device.
They claim that they were able to secure a large amount of the much-needed ATMEL chips, so they will be able to supply the high demand for their products. -- This are the same people that have been famed in the XBOX world for all their products since the first XBOX mod was produced. -- Here is a production photo of their new product:
Presenting Minimus, a high quality production grade AVR USB Development Unit that is clean in design, low in cost and readily available to resellers around the globe. There are hundreds of projects available for the AVR USB hobbyist looking for a powerful yet cost effective solution. Works with Open Source LUFA USB firmware library and Open Source LibUSB software library.
EDIT: Youtube Video's have been removed!
The Minimus AVR USB is powered by an Atmel AT90USB162 that is pre-programmed with the bootloader which allows code to be programmed inside the chip without any external programmer, just download the FLIP software from Atmel's web site and load your HEX code. To enter the bootloader mode you should simply press and hold HWB button, then press and release the RST button.
Of course this product again for legal reasons will be shipped blank and sold as a USB development board, and it is up to the end-user what they are going to be using it for. -- Check the following links for resellers and more info!

Team-X also updated their forum thread to make it clear, that all support will be handled by the Minimususb people, and they are just the contract factory for their product.
Production began this week and we will be shipping to the Minimus guys this weekend. Although we are actually manufacturing this all support will be offered by the Minimus guys on their website. We make many OEM devices for other companies which are undisclosed, however we felt this one deserved a mention.

I just can't wait to get my hands on something I can use!
This looks rather promising as well, since it's backed by a rather reputable team.

I've preordered the Maximus the other day from Teensy.co.uk, firstly because of problems getting hold of an alternative here, and secondly, Maximus do good products for the 360 so a bit of loyalty there.
I hope that over time, all of the variations are all supported and updated equally.....would be terrible if these all started competing against each other not sharing the information/ports resulting in a lot of redundant usb devices.
Exciting times ahead.....

I just couldn't live with a board and wire hanging out of the ps3 this looks neat and tidy

I also ordered the Maximus AVRUSB from redboxmods dot com for £26. Hopefully it'll be just as good as the one announced on this thread but I suppose only time will tell.
