Statement from xiaNaix Regarding PSX-SCENE
Statement from xiaNaix Regarding PSX-SCENE –
In 2002, Guichi and I started what was then called PS2Newz.net Our small Playstation forum grew quickly and soon became PS2-Scene.org, the premiere source for PS2 scene news and information. With the announcement of the Playstation 3 and the PS2 in itís twilight years, Guichi retired and I focused my attention on a site for the newly released Nintendo Wii console. We changed names once again and became known as PSX-SCENE.
In August of last year, PSX-SCENE was first with the news of the worldís first PS3 modchip, PS Jailbreak. The site immediately drew world-wide attention, and was linked by numerous mainstream news sources. Then, in January of 2011, Sony filed a lawsuit against famed iPhone and PS3 hacker Geohot, as well as several other PS3 homebrew developers. Once again, PSX-SCENE was at the forefront of things, providing case updates and court filings on a regular basis. The name PSX-SCENE quickly became well-known even outside of the homebrew community.
With the increase in traffic as a result of these high-profile events, GaryOPA and I have struggled to keep up with the daily requirements needed to maintain and support such a large community. Our moderators have been doing a fantastic job but they too are clearly being taxed by the increase in traffic we've seen over the last six months. In addition, I am faced with serious personal and professional issues that require my immediate and focused attention.
As a result of these and many other factors, I made the extremely difficult decision to relinquish control of both PSX-SCENE and WiiNewz to a media company that will continue running the site from here on out. Caputo Media is very experienced in this area, being the owners of QJ.NET, one of the biggest and best sources for gaming news on the internet.
Iím sure there will be numerous rumors surrounding these events but, rest assured, the site is not under the control of Sony or any other giant enemy crab. I have simply decided to turn things over to a group of people who can continue to evolve PSX-SCENE into the biggest and best source for Playstation scene news on the internet while I focus on reality for a while.
PSX-SCENE has always been a user driven community and it is my hope that you will continue to support the site during this transition period and beyond.
This is not Game OverÖ itís Game On.

I wanted to follow up on what xiaNaix said and let you know that i'll be handling the day to day operations along with many of the current moderators that you all already know. To be sure, there will be some changes coming but hopefully they will be for the better and nothing is set in stone. If you have any suggestions feel free to send them to me and we will see about implementing them. You will see less ads, a cleaner layout, we will be on faster servers, and we will be a part of QJ.net which publishes gaming stories each and every day by our editorial team.
We are really excited and are looking forward to taking PSX-Scene to the next level.
Loving the no ads look on the page, makes the site faster. I wish you luck in whatever your gonna do xiaNaix and i hope that your personal problems arent anything to serious. I think all we want is the latest news delivered straight from devs like dean k and i hope that they stick around. Easily the best site for ps3 news
I wish you the best of luck in your personal and professional life xianaix. Life usually trumps internet... usually
I hope the site continues to flourish and if you guys ever need any help, let me know.
Long live PSX-SCENE!
There will be ads, just less of them. And probably a cool new layout too. But like was said earlier nothing is in stone. Just looking to improve on what's already here!
Why are you doin this? Wanna get ready for ps4? Or wat?
So pretty much straight forward you are saying that you become greedy and sold the site for a proper amount of money.
Everybody would. Me too. I'd understand it.

This will always be where i come from trusted news on the ps3 scene look forward to seeing where its going (the site not the scene, thats pretty dead)
Will gary still be around as a member? Or is this a complete restructuring for PSX-scene and our current beloved Admins are going bye bye forever?
As long as this site doesn't become "pro sony" and we aren't allowed to share releases and contributions to the scene then I can deal with it. But you(xianix) and gary will both be missed. But hopefully at least Gary still stays around.
I seriously hope this doesn't change the site though. If it does I guess I gotta go to shitty ps3-news .
