While this is great, I do have to comment that calling a system protection that took four years to break "epic fail" is extremely arrogant, and retarded at that.
no its not. after they found out how simple it actually was and how stupid of sony with some of there retarded coding it is an epic fail. simple lol

We can't play new games on 3.41 and it's the only FW that's jailbroken. We already up to 3.55 and this will make 3.60 come now. Plus, no PSN. I think we got a long time to go before they comment saying fail imo
with this we can run homebrew on 3.55 and anythig after it making it better than the jailbreak and btw jailbreak works on anything below 3.42

Anything made by people can be broken by people, so their quality is measured by how much effort and time it took to do it, and on that part the PS3 was far beyond the rest.
If it was a failure on anyones part (which isnt the case) it would be the hackers, considering they needed the service dongle.
Noobquestion: Is the following true?
If we can sign a modified 3.55-update.pup, we would be able 2 play online with jailbroken 3.55-version.
If not, we could at least sign a backup-manager to allow gamez on ACID FW Flashed-PS3s.(So installing/starting gamez and appz could be done with no need to boot with dongle every time)
P.S.: Epic fail or not, those guys did a great job
The Security its an Epic Fail.
Sony has just learned of the mistake at the psp and make not so much mistakes in the firmware of the ps3.
Once the hacker has acces into the system all the security was useless.
and it´s an epic fail that sony has make the thing with that the hacker become acces to the system.
totally agree with u its nto a epic fail whats epic fail is wii xbox 360 they were the most easiest console to hack and so damn fast too and ps3 took time and if it was epic fail it wouldn't take 4 year to do this and or if its epic fail why are dongles needed to hack exactly so its not a epic fail ps3 had a pretty strong strong defense and people who are gonna flame me dont even bother dont say ppl didnt try to hack the ps3 before or developers ok everyone knows that they did and google it when they were post hackers saying oh the ps3 is too hard or unbreakable but i love the hacking community thats why im here but just wanted to say this comment jsut my opinion but great job to those guys their very good and smart

You guys don't seem to get what this is about. Its intent is not for you whiny ass pirates. "OMG I can't play GT5 with this??!!", shut up and buy it already and get the hell off this site. I'm tired of reading your posts. This is a big step forward, (Um working example of custom firmware without the need to hit power eject tomorrow anyone?) and yes even for you lame pirates out there, you will benefit from this as well. And no, XBOX 360 was never fully hacked, yes for again you lame ass pirates it was hacked but we still do not have a homebrew option aside from finding old xbox's that do not have a newer version dashboard via j-tagging.
