    i totally felt cheated out of my money when i spent $65 for uncharted 2. the graphics were fantastic with gameplay but all except that i beat the game in less than 10 hrs. i really don't have the desire to play the game again. i can't even get $40 bucks on craigslist cause lots of low ballers want to pay $25 and gamestop will only give me $23 of store credit for it. why are publishers jacking up the prices?

    My take on this (and it's only opinion, I'm not sure if it is this way or not) is the publisher wants to make as much money as possible right off the bat since they pay developers the same regardless of when it sells. Think record companies/book publishers. The artist/writer gets paid the same per CD/book regardless of the price. This fixed royalty is like what the developers get. So the more the game sells for, the more the publisher gets since the developer will get paid the same amount.

    This is why I say the publishers should just stop trying to force a profit out of polished turds and release games worth buying. Games worth buying have high replay value and are very likely going to keep a gamer happy for a long time.

    yeah i see where you're coming from. the problem with publishers is that they're very greedy and perform very poorly in the sense of the effort that they invest for the development & design of a game.
