Sony PSP Portable –
From what I can tell this is just a glimpse of what the PSP may look like. Set to be released in Japan in the 4 quarter of this year it should hit the market with a BANG like any other new gaget being sold there.
The PSP will use UMD (Universal Media Disc) optical disk format.
A UMD is a 60 millimeter dual layered disk that can store up to 1.8 Gigabytes of data. Transfer rate for the reader unit is 11 Megabits per second, which is twice the transfer rate of a standard DVD system. Sony is also promising the highest level of copy protection for these discs using DiscID and AES encoding technology.

umm, yea. just a couple months late on that one
Yes. Old news with pic ripped from the "PSP concept model" released/leaked in early November 2003.
I guess the news here is that Lik-Sang finally found out about it.
nahh, lik-sang had the pics on their page back in november too.
...and while we discuss Lik-Sang get the webhits...
I don't think it matter what link LOD used. If he wants to make a commission from his link, so be it. You don't have to click on it. I guess though you have a personal interest in that though.
Anyways in case people were wondering the official release date for the PSP is November this year with a first showing at E3 and the retail version including games will be shown at TGS.
I think it matters. A commission would explain why old news are being posted. Check previous comments.
