Which is stupid because they have all the information they need on geohot. All they will get is his address which they already have, his name which they already have, and comments on the forum. He never hosted is code here. But on his site.
I don't understand why Sony are being this stupid. What reason do you have to ask for information you already have? Besides wasting people's time.
Also again guys don't worry about PSX-scene. Gary has it covered trust me. This site won't go anywhere and it will still remain the best scene site.

I don't understand one thing:

.
hit the nail on the head.
wasting time = more legal fees
which makes it harder and harder to defend your case

Little shits are requesting logs of geohot.com with details of everybody who visited the site, **** 'em. Hopefully the NGP gets hacked day #1 and even then it wouldn't be worth the money or even bother.

why is sony not after the US army for hooking up all those ps3 together?
don't think they play a game with eachother, so the US army must have hacked the ps3's to let them do what they want it to do.

'I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!'
'I want you to get up right now, sit up, go to your windows, open them and stick your head out and yell - 'I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Things have got to change. But first, you've gotta get mad!... You've got to say, 'I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Then we'll figure out what to do about the 3.56 cfw and the and the root kits and the Linux RSX chip. But first get up out of your chairs, open the window, stick your head out, and yell, and say:'
'I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!'

Sony just doesn't get it. Let's look at the two possible outcomes here:
A) Sony succeeds, and ruins the lives of a handful of American hackers. It does little to stop the hacking though, as hackers continue to operate outside of America's jurisdiction and are for the most part completely untracable, and maybe even protected under their country's laws. Result: Sony will have slowed down the scene a little bit for a couple of months while the case went through, but hacking hit full throttle again soon after.
B) Sony loses. This will attract more hackers, possibly even more experienced scene hackers who were staying away for legal reasons, because the fact the lawsuits failed once will mean that Sony literally cannot win any similar lawsuits in the future. Sony just loses, and any of their future systems are pretty ****ing compromised from the get-go in the sense that people have no incentive to stay away from poking around whatsoever.
Sony is gambling an unfathomable loss of future security with the hope of experiencing a minor victory.

Technically, it wasn't the Army, it was the USAF, but moving on... the USAF actually struck a deal with Sony to obtain older PS3s capable of running Linux. They hacked precisely nothing.
Well, initially anyway. Lord knows they've probably tapped into the extra power now available to them behind the scenes, but none of that's pubic knowledge.

Of course Sony will win, it's an American case. People get executed over there with no fair trial
. They're ready as ever to **** over the common man to hell and back.
