Sony Battle Move #2: "DNS/Proxy" Now Blocked on PSN!

Sony has made their second big move to force more people over to the new v3.21 firmware, which of course removes the "Other OS" feature!

I guess there must have been alot of people still using PSN and playing online, using either the DNS workaround or various Proxy tools, for Sony to now decide to stop these tricks users were using on their PS3's to be able sign-in using the older v3.15 firmware, and wishing to keep their "Other OS"!

But sadly, those PS3 machines are now just displaying the error 8002A212!

Hey, at least for now Sony can't stop you from hacking your PS3 this way:

Sorry for the late posting of the news, but I was busy fixing broken PS3's machines today, and just could not get near a computer.

Today's batch of broken PS3's were all the famous YLOD, ugh!

I wonder what the next move will be?

No word yet of the so-called CFW from Geohot after that famous "youtube" video he posted.

And if it does appear, it looks like Sony's next move will be "banning" of users!

damn i am still on 3.15 that's mean if i use online feature for Games it will force me to update it to 3.21 right ? i haven't been online since a month or more

My fatty is staying at 3.15. I wanted a slim anyway, It is the do everything posterboy. But my fatty, wth Sony. Now I am never updating my fatty with sony server ever again. Got a slim and I gotta say it's pretty sick and plays GT5P no problem. =]

if geohot does release a v3.21 cfw then we will keep the otherOS feature and have access to PSN (netflix, new games). the only problem that will face new users of v3.21 cfw is a banhammer coming from sony. it won't be too hard for sony to detect cfw.

looks like he won't be doing CFW anytime soon according to his twitter page.

He is actually pretty close and was just about to release it before the DNS hack stopped working. According to his spam free blog at DISQUS, he is pretty much done it, just looking a little more at it now before releasing it.

Should be soon. I guess it will be by the weekend (hopefully).
