The order is for a continuation of the current emergency injunction that was granted yesterday.

The injunction is baseless, and is very unlikely that it will be continued or become permanent.

This makes absolutely no difference to those that have pre-orders as none of us will be receiving stock until the end of the week/next week anyway.

OMC, Modsupplier and myself are all close friends, share lawyers and have sought senior counsel for this matter.

That has nothing to do with the topic here. This is about what Sony has done to block the sales of PSJailbreak in Australia. Nothing to do with any firmware updates.

This was bound to happen no matter what though. Other countries are okay for now but the war has begun!

On the Application it says Applicants - Sony Austrailia and Sony Europe. Wonder why just Austrailia and Europe divisons of Sony are listed as applicants.

the PS JB in itself is not illegal, all it does is answer calls, it the software they are providing that is illegal

Unless they can prove the device which is not in circulation has circumvented Sony's proprietary info, then the injunction should get lifted

Hey, been cruising the forums since this whole thing started, first post here.

According to the reverse engineering:

We can confirm that PSJailbreak is in fact no simple clone of Sony´s “Jig” modul, instead it´s an honest, self developed exploit. The Chip inside is no PIC18F444 but an ATMega with USB-software. That means that the chip is capable of internal USB emulation. PSJailbreak mainly emulates a 6-port USB-hub to that several USB-devices get connected and disconnected in a speciffic sequence. One of these devices has the ID of Sony´s “Jig” modul, so that means that the “Jig” played a certain role during the development of PSJailbreak.

Doesn't that mean they have no basis to stop it? If it was self developed, then I don't see how Sony can even attempt this.

That's what were all waiting to find out, if this contains any code from Sony or used Sony tools to create then I imagine this would be deemed illegal.
