Sony of Austrailia imposes injunction.

Looks like Sony's bid to stem the spread of PS Jailbreak is underway. They've imposed an injunction forcing aussie retailers to do a u-turn on their preorders by refunding their respective customers until they can get this cleared up.

A hearing is due to go ahead on the 31st of august, we'll have to wait until then to see how this develops but this will most likely cause quite a few red faces across the world.

Email sent to customers reportedly from Mod Suppliers:

We regret to inform you that today Sony Australia imposed an injunction against any company / person’s selling the PS Jailbreak devices, so it is with great regret that we have to inform you that we will not be buying or selling any PS Jailbreak devices. We have just issued a full refund to your card for the pre-order made.

We wish to apologize immensely for any inconvenience this may have caused, and hope that you can understand our position on this matter. Please note the refund we have issued can take approx 5-working days to show on your card.

For now anyway, as far as I know they're refunding everyone as a matter of course because they cannot be seen to be selling before or during the hearing.

If it does go the retailers way then they can resume selling them after the above mentioned date.

At least that's the way I understand it...

I ordered mine from someplace in Canada. Hopefully no such thing will happen up here and i'll get my chip (hopefully) next week sometime. Fingers crossed

Sucks for Ozmods who could lose out big time. The end user will still get the products one way or another at the end of the day and $ony know this.

I bet those PS Jailbreak jerks tipped off Sony and sent them a sample Jig stick. Knowing Sony would respond this way.

Thus this product will get more news coverage. This will create a limited supply and huge demand. They will be able to charge whatever they want now!!!! 500$ Jig sticks will be selling on ebay in no time.
