EEUG is back from his holiday and has released a new version of SMS. More information and download can be found at the official SMS site, hosted HERE on PS2-Scene!

- DTV 480p video mode support added. Note: not tested here;
- added menu option to configure controller port 2. There're 3 options:
- gamepad: remote control is disabled and controller port 2 is configured
for gamepad;
- remote control: controller port 2 is configured for the official remote control
with external IR sensor plugged into controller slot 2;
- none: controller port 2 is disabled and support for the official remote control
with built-in IR sensor is enabled;
Notes: second option will appear only if there's no rom1:RMMAN2 module;
- added brightness control to the player. Use 'L2' gamepad button to decrease
brightness and 'R2' to increase it;
- added high precision mode to the MP3 decoder. Sound appears better in this mode but
it's more demanding in computational sense. This mode is always on for audio files
and it's selectable for video files via SMS menu;
- fixed cdvd driver (ISO9660:1999 mode). Thanks to 'Voldemar_U2' for the research and
implementation;
- added support for arabic subtitles. Activated by
"SMS menu->Player Settings->Subtitle Alignment->right" option. I'm not sure if I did
it correctly (original strings are reversed and displayed right aligned), so any
comments are welcome. Thanks to 'ALI' for explanations;
- updated USB drivers;
- network drivers are slightly optimized resulting a bit faster network transactions
(I've got ~690KB/s while transferring a video file to the hard disk);

Hi every body,
Thx for the new version. However, I have tried it with a movie with an Arabic subtitle and it did not work.
However, I think I have a better solution for our problem and for every body whose language is not in ASCII code.
The new version of DivX 6 has subtitles features and with the mean of software called AviSub, You can embed a movie up to three subtitles. And while you are playing the movie you can select which subtitle you want just like a DVD and this software is not like VirtualDub, AviSub can join your three subtitles in less than 5 minutes and the output is a file with .divx extension. I tried it with standalone divx player (e.g. Philips) and it works. However, with SMS, it can play them but it does not give the option for selecting the subtitle.
Therefore, could you please add this feature in the coming version so that every body can enjoy there subtitles with their native language.

Hi All , Arabic Subtitles Are NOT WORKING , Plz add the IDX/SUB (VobSub) Subtitles Format To The SMS .

This Type can be used not in Arabic only u can view Chienese and Japanese and other languages

The Extension of the files are (*.IDX , *.SUB) Not Only .Sub

it is based on BMP Images merged in a one file like the DVD Video

and i have another suggestion , can u please add the MPEG II - DVD Video & MPEG , WMV , RealPlayer , Quicktime Codecs to be the best media player

Where I can find a DVD version of SMSplayer? My PS2 just refuses to read any program recrded on a CD............

yea... it would be GREAT if SMS could read other formats of multimedia files, like MPG, MKV, etc...

even if it the .ELF file had to be larger for having more multimedia codecs, I, at least, wouldn't care :P
