Great release!!!
I've got some problems with 720p in the newest release - picture flickers when changing the menu positions.
It has not been so in the previouse releases. Anyone has similar problems?
In principle the same kind of problem could happen with older releases too. I had it in 720p in Rev.3, though it also depended on the screen positioning.
With the screen positioned high and a black border at the bottom, that problem went away, but this was the wrong way to cure it. The correct way was to go into the "Display settings" menu and its submenu "Advanced settings..." and there adjust "Synch. parameter 1" and "Synch. parameter 2" to some value that allows perfect rendering, which should then apply both to GUI and video. The third parameter should be adjusted if you had problems with sound sync.
However, regardless of how you did this in the previous versions (or ignored it), all old settings are now invalid and must be deleted before you can expect even default operability of the new SMS version, since EEUG says that all compatibility with old configuration files is scrapped. Apparently we must now all start over from scratch. And that is not going to be easy, since there is not one ascii code of documentation in the release package. We can only hope that the files that previously had to be hand-edited are now supported by config menus.
I'm not sure if the scrapping applies to everything (Samba networking etc) or just some part of the configs, because he never stated that yet (AFAIK). But the only way to be sure that nothing incompatible is used must be to delete everything and start clean. (But make a backup of the old stuff first anyway.)
For my own part I have chosen not to upgrade to Rev.4 immediately.
Rev.3 works well for me, and I have no wish to start over from scratch right now
Best regards: dlanor
replaced binary with updated without debug code.
The samba settings are preserved here. It's probably because they're stored in a separate file.
Now mp3 sounds are very nice, Using rev2 some music with piano (bass and midbass) sounds was crappy, now plays fine, even better using toslink. but when i access files via lan, SMS randonly hangs when i press triangle. (sorry for english)
Ya Im Bi-Poler and proud of it
I've run into a bug on video. I've got some .avi files that worked fine with Rev. 3 that seem to stretch out on R4 it's hard to explain, and I'll try to post a screencap of it when I have a chance.
all my other files (mp3, avi, etc) work fine, just this one set. I suspect it's the codec, but until I can provide a proper screencap, I'm not gonna come to any conclusions, especially since it was working fine earlier on 3.

thanks for updating
