Alright well after testing it out for 5 minutes or so, just to see what it can do. What it cant and there are many bugs.
- On Video Playback Not Whole Screen
- Lags on anything with resolution of 1920xXXXX (Tested With MKV, .TS, .VOB)
- When Video Plays It Gives a Huge Long File Name, Instead of Say Video.MKV
- My Puppy Chewing My Shoe ><
- Endless Loop after Pressing - (Takes You Back To Home, Again, Again, Again)
- Playing A 720p File From My PS3 HDD Lags Tremendously
- Syncing Issues With Video's That Do Play Smothly
There Were also some issues with the look of it. Very Blah, and ugly. But I'm Sure With Future Updates and People Helping Out Will Make This Program Into One Of The Premier Homebrew Apps On The PS3.
Wishlist For The App
Some Sort of Netflix/Hulu Support
Visualizer For Music
1080p MKV Support
Full BluRay Support. So I Won't Have To Transfer My BluRay Just To See It Not Work On My PS3 ><
New Themes, Like XMBC With Plug-Ins/Covers/Info
I Just Want To Say Thank You, Thank You From The Bottom Of My Heart Andoma. You Are Slowly Turing My PC & PS3 Into A Mega HTPC. Thanks. We Are Lucky To Have You Here.
I assume this supports NTFS (hence the 1080p MKVs). Does it support rmvb?
OFC, since its a media server. Plays off your PC and PS3. I'm pretty sure if is plays on your computer with ffdshow then it should here.

First of all, subtitles must also support other languages and maybe size should be adjustable. there is a section in options about subtitles but i couldn't manage to do anything.
Secondly; I tested a mkv playback with AAC audio and h264 codec, @ 720x400 res; which didnt play, but freezed the ps3 until i unplugged the external hdd. Bu t this is probably because of, app doesnt suppot mkv:)
So will this play files off a network or will it only play files if they are on your PS3?
looking forward to testing it out but from the sounds of it still needs some work, good thing its beta and we can give our feedback.
Once MKV is out I'll be using this to play my videos instead of transcoding which is a pain in the ass :D

Hmm can you show me how to do this? i can only find an option to select PS3 HDD, how do i direct to a networked source?

if this is the case its only going to be partially useful until it can select a source from the network especially since i have 18tb of data :S
your PC needs set up as a media server
