Interesting, they go to court on my birthday. Not really interesting but worth pointing out lol
not really worth pointing out.

Maybe they want to prevent their precious 3.60 from hacking

That's what the bit in the TOS for "Unauthorized repair" is to catch. Even if your chip/flash cannot be detected, if they have evidence that you opened up your xbox360 outside of a authorized service center, they can ban the console.
RRODs fixing themselves are evidence. (too many RRODs in a row followed by clean boots)
Boots with optical drive detached are evidence.
Voltage changes on the fan are evidence.
Drive serial number changing is of course evidence.
So? At least Microsoft have a real warranty policy. With Sony you still have to pay for the damn thing. The warrant for sony's products just mean they'll actually touch the damn thing, not do it for free. But Microsoft will do both.

But yea those are things people that are intelligent do. Likewise intelligent people know to run their ISO's through ABGX before signing into Xbox live. But yea.... those people are few and far between I guess.
PS. All of that wasn't really directed at you so don't take offense, it was merely stated in general.
I'll also add that wii online is not full of cheaters, at least not with anything I've played. Played Goldeneye online like it was my job for awhile, and running into a cheater was extremely rare, despite how incredibly easy it is to download and run cheat codes on a modded wii.

My point is an out of warranty self repair, or a repair from a cheap non microsoft service center can get you banned.

If you don't pay an authorized service center for out of warranty service, you risk a delayed ban.
This is because the console securely logs and transmits the logs to MS. Just about every possible exception is logged, as well as successful boots. That's how they catch self done repairs. And all consoles with self done repairs are considered suspect for modchips.
Yes, a smart chipper will avoid tripping the checks.. until MS figures out a new one. It's honest people who don't want to pay MS for out of warranty service that are likely to get hit, along with pirtates who's consoles die.
