Okay this might seem stupid to others but....and I am not backing Sony, but at the same time I don't want this console to turn out like it's brethren the PSP. Not saying that it will if it keeps getting Jailbroken, but it COULD. I don't blame Sony for what they are doing. If I had the money and the console was made by me, I might do the same. I'm saying this because of all the previous posts with comments like, 'burn sony'. I don't want em to burn. Do YOU know how to MAKE a PS3? I don't. Let em keep making em, you guys hack em every now and then. At the rate this is going, this console WILL die unless Sony does like Microsoft. But I have a feeling it's more...'Personal' for Sony than it was for Microsoft.
I enjoy the home-brew, and the fact that I have the choice to pirate or not, but at the same time I can't help but look up and see down the road. Hopefully it doesn't kill the console cause it has a lot of potential.
But at the same time, Sony should have backed up their 'It Does Everything' campaign by making do Everything.

EDIT: No matter what country you live in the law is the law!!!! The law does not care about how you feel about your "purchase" of a ps3 or the games for said console. If in your country you legaly purchased a License to use your console THEN YOU ONLY OWN A LICENSE TO USE YOUR CONSOLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS SONY HAS PROVIDED YOU!!!!!!!!! How you "feel" about that does not matter, because you only own a License. If you don't agree don't use a ps3.

EDIT2: I do personally "feel" that if you purchase a commodity you should own and have all rights to it but I am a realist and I understand that "feeling" does not negate the FACT that law is law.

IS THIS AN ECONOMY SITE?!?!?!?!????? $ony can shovel their license into their precious arse... and you into you damn brain lol. $ony has to make more money than microsoft (more diversity products) but I REALLY DONT CARE AND THATS NOT EVEN IMPORTANT (big brain) They will do the same and FAIL the same...

well said i think you have hit the nail on the head

They managed to keep this console from being hacked for 4 years and has been the only one on the market to be able to hold claim to that but now it has been i feel this has dented there pride and they want to do all they can to gain some of it back.

This is a cat and mouse game for us and them and you can guarantee that all this is also going to help them make sure when they do realese the PS4 that any form of loop hole and security is 10x harder as they will have learnt from all this and will find different methods to service the PS4

At the end of the day the hackers will win they always will once a flaw has been found but everytime they do sony learns another valuble lesson for future consoles.

Are you serious? Sony makes more products than microsoft. A quick search on the best buy website for "sony".

Sony HD projectors
Sony Blueray players

and on and on.

Where are the microsoft TVs, DVD players, HD projectors, Digital camerias, Video camerias, Laptops, desktops, and well i can go on and on?

In summation, Sony is a HUGE company that makes a plethora of products. I can't believe I live in a world with someone with your very narrow line of thinking. It's shocking really. I would be willing to bet most people own more sony products than they do microsoft products.

WOaH! Sony is really serious about kiling homebrew and piracy (well as far as i see it, homebrew does a good job in helping people who wants to pirate PlayStation Games by a lot.)

Not that homebrew is a bad thing, its just sort of kinda making PIRACY much much more easier to be done and almost making it possible where people are left with only a choice whether they would do it or not..
