Yeah, no. I don't think so, Sony is known for their shady dealings. Like selling me a console with otheros toted as a bullet point than stripping it away from me. That's is the very definition of illegal. Lets not be hypocrites here. Or how about disabling my usb ports so I can't use third party controllers. List goes on, if you are prepared to sue someone, you better be prepared for them to sue you back. They can ban people from the network, they can even ban the console ID. Follow Microsofts strategy, this only splits your community and has adverse effects on sales, and their not doing to well to begin with.
Yep, i agree with that. I read some of their Exhibits and 70% is ads and user comments from the many sites they scanned into a document for presentation. By reading what most say is still considered "hersay" since none of what is posted on an internet blog constitues as fact, but merely opinions.
I think by displaying so much information in their exhibits it looks like they got a lot on something, the Judge will just glance at a few highlighted lines they chose to be read and most judges simply dont have the time to read everything thats exhibited as evidence.
As the 'ole saying goes, "if you cant dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit".

I wouldn't be getting all paranoid yet but if they start serving places like PJRC and the Blackcat dealer (forgot the name offhand) looking for customer lists then I'd probably be a bit more concerned.
I'll bury my ps3 console!

thats why i never use APO email for those stuff .
Since I'm an owner from a dutch PlayStation jailbreaking website i'm curious to see if I get any takedown notices.... Or maybe the public we try to reach is to limited (only dutch)
What are they gonna do, track down every sale of a USB microcontroller?
Sony is trolling every place to find out where a buyer would go to find out about a device for sale and when they find your site, you will probably be getting a notice if they can track down who/where your at.
That would be a waste of their time/efforts, since those places selling plain microcontrollers are selling them for legitimate software engineers and device builders for legitimate products. They cant stop them from selling their product because someone 'might' be using it to make jailbreaks with. They have to prove the buyers made a jailbreak device out of it first, so DIY'ers shouldnt have much to worry about.
For now they are only goin after jailbreak distributors, not the endusers.

so in order to not get taken down by sony is simple:
remove the cover > china-fake product
ok there's a serial number , de-solder flash chip , there you go , zombie china product.
sold by sony that is , you can sue them by selling you a 3rd grade product that doesnt work at all.
ow wait ,that's what they're trying to do
future : you'll have to pay for features like otherOS
so in defence , they have no business touching my ps3 as long as i don't use psn
no matter what they're EULA say's
sony is loosing the battle, they just don't want to admit it (yet)
HINT: if every ps3 owner Sue's sony , they will go down![]()
