Saving 56kers - Play SOCOM: US Navy Seals with 56K

oh yeah, not everyone has awesome 56k, have you thought about that? most people have msn/aol, few have real dialup services that is actually usable for online games.........

There is a very simple solution, just have the socom servers kick anyone with a ping above a specific point. That way 56kers can run their own servers with a high ping kick and cable people can run their own also.

if yo uhave a descent dial up service and get a good ping to the server others may not notice (as long as your not using voice) but when you lag the server down compared to everyone else who has a ping of 150ms and your up at 450 trying to play its a little rediculous.

I think that this is a poor news item to post and am dissapointed that ps2news wouldnt consider not posing this to the masses.

When only the somewhat technically minded knew how to do it (or anyone with basic network knowledge) they knew that they should stick to the servers where they get a good ping. Now all the noobs and lamers are going to get on and slow things down.

What this does mean is that socom online will respond to all the complaints they get and employ something simular to the ping kick.

yeah when you face a 450ms opponent it does get ridiculous, and that really should (actually it DOES) outrage people because they see it and it SHOULDNT be happening in the first place.

I did not mean to stir up that much shit sorry man! I just wanted people to think before they speak/type. Yea I can curse like a sailor with the best of them but I really cant in everyday activities.
(I am a teacher with a masters and going for my Doctorate, but my spelling and grammer are a real joke so I am with you on that not judging people thing I never ment it to go that way)

but again PLZ get online today and find Mr. Sasavicz and tell me what you think. I really want to know if you super connection people can see me lag because about once a night I find a room where I lag and just find a new one and do fine. And noone ever complains to me about it really.

And yes I dont have MSN/AOL I have the local internet company that IS the cable company that also supplies dial up so I think that helps the cause too.

p.s. I am ranked in the top 4k so I must be doing ok.
I was under 3k for longest time before christmass but then came Wild Arms 3, Suikoden 3, Star Wars Bounty Hunter, Star Wars Clone wars, and I had to play them you see.
