thread title is sooo misleading.
this is a letter form sony representative, it isn't a law, it's an empty threat.
I'm not a lawyer, but last time I checked any modifications to legitimately purchased hardware/software were completely legal.

We dispatched a letter to that APKP (from which this document came).

We wrote that they can't just forbid selling these jailbreaks, because they don't contain any illegal data.

They just can't 'forbid' anything by themselves until the law is changed.
