RUMOR: Sony could (may) remotely disable all Jailbroken/hacked PS3's!

To date, Sony's response to the jailbreak has been limited to mandatory firmware updates and revoking PSN access to those that refuse to use official system software.
However, a report by
Digital Foundry claims that Sony can take far more drastic measures. Even if you've never signed up for a PSN account, your console will communicate with Sony servers every time it boots up. That initial load process is used to upload error logs, download updates to the "What's New" module, and a list of recently-run applications, including any unauthorized backup manager software.
Sony has yet to ban any consoles for taking advantage of the jailbreak, but the terms and conditions of the PlayStation Network make it clear that Sony has the authority to carry them out. Thanks to the system's constant self-reporting feature, "the company even has the means to irrevocably disable your console should it so wish," rendering affected PS3 consoles unusable, online and off. But will Sony ever use such a drastic measure? And if so, how will the hacker scene retaliate?

Code:
fus01.ps3.update.playstation.net > Update Server (sys updates)
mercury.dl.playstation.net > What's new ads
nsx.np.dl.playstation.net > playstation store preview
nsx-e.np.dl.playstation.net > ads
(main file exchange connections)
us.np.stun.playstation.net > on boot initiates connection
ena.net.playstation.net > SSLv3 connection after above connection
dus01.ps3.update.playstation.net > secondary update attempt (could force updates)
auth.np.ac.playstation.net > SSLv3 authentication server
(destination servers)
service.playstation.net (has multiple IPs if only the ip address is blocked)
(Error Reporting)
creepo.ww.hl.playstation.net (uploads crash reports etc.)
Almost all connections cannot just be port blocked, the port will continue to increment until it connects, you have to block the entire domains. Also a big point is that ALL computers on your network need to have these blocked not just the PS3's MAC because if you are running a proxy for example to get patches, the computer you proxy to will just allow the connections right out to the open unless all local IPs are blocked from these sites as well.

Already posted this elsewhere, but I think it fits better here:
Ok, I know everyone is getting sick new information being posted from people idling in the IRC channels, but here's another one. Currently FromACant is reversing the information that is sent to Sony from our PS3's when they first get turned on (see article from earlier today @ Joystiq.com) and come to find out, this is some of the information sent to them:
FromACant> the xml file it uploaded contained all the network devices for my home, plus media server hostnames, identifiers, and mac addresses. weird. and creepy.
FromACant> also, when the ps3 finds, at boot, that it can connect to the psn ad servers, but not the update servers, it randomizes the connection port and tries 15-20 more times.
FromACant> also, it sends a lot of encrypted data, no idea what THAT means :/
So, those of you that are worried about what Sony may be collecting about your home, may want to disconnect their PS3 from the internet, or at the very least, but in some firewall rules to block connection to these servers.

Under no circumstances whatsoever will Sony release an update that renders a jailbroken PS3 unusable offline, that would result in a huge lawsuit against them.
The most they will do is ban jailbroken PS3s from PSN.

Sorry to say, but I kinda doubt a company that was so retarded to put the PSP KIRK keys on the PS3 somewhere, and a company that was so retarded in the cryptology department -
I kinda doubt this company made of epic fail even made a contingency plan and a hard kill-switch. They never in their wildest dreams imagined that somebody would get past the hypervisor. They didn't even think a contingency plan was necessary.
Sounds like they're just making crap up to scare people off from using CFW.
FUD.
That's what I think this is.
I call their bluff.

Absolute RUBBISH
Sony will not ban ANYONE
You know why? Exactly the same reason microsoft don't ban Xbox 360s for using the recently discovered profile hacking\allowing play of full XBLA content on unmodified consoles.
The reason is that you could quite easily go over someones house you don't like and hack their PS3 all in software - no opening of case - no modifying - without that person knowing.
Never going to happen, it's silly to even discuss it.

i've had those domains blocked since the keys were leaked, before i didn't think it was a major threat, but now since the ps3 is turned inside out i'm taking every precaution
