Round #3 : Sony of Australia vs. PSJailBreak Resellers
Beginning in a few minutes, over in Aussie-land, the third and possible final big court room battle will be starting, with the Honorable Justice Dodds-Streeton presiding, in the Victoria Federal Court Room 6B, level 6.
Now if it was up to me, I get the guys in suits to lossen up a bit, with us techie geeks, and we settle this once and for all over a long night of cards, winner takes all, loser well loses!
How many mod-CHIPs (pun?) do you raise? -- If Sony is holding an ACE?
But that is not the case, instead a bunch of small little businesses in the land down-under are fighting for their rights to make an living and support an market, against a very large corporation that thinks devices like the PSJailbreak and now the totally open-source PSGroove will hurt their previously un-crackable air-tight lock-down now Linux-less PS3 platform.
Previously Sony was able to get the courts to order a total import and sell or even offer to the public an injunction last week, when only the PSJailbreak was starting to roll out.
But now in less then 7 days, we have websites like PS3KEY, PS3Stinger, x3jailbreak, and now the super world-wide famous open-source DIY homebrew called PSGroove, which has caused an global world-wide shortage of devices that have ATMEL chips in them called USB development boards, or Teensy, and now even the Blackcat modem flashing devices.
All have been sold-out world-wide in even small no-name countries, so today's big question what is Sony going to do, fold their hand in this high-stake poker game?
Or take everyone down, rumors are Sony is going to shortly do the same they did in Australia to even single supplier world-wide of these devices?
But can Sony stop people from selling Blackcat devices on Ebay? -- Or ATMEL from selling their USB development board? -- Or Teensy from selling theirs?
Ozmodchips, last tweet saids it going to be an long day in court, so we might not have any live updates for many hours, but stay tuned to this new thread, and we are all wishing him and the rest of the resellers fighting for our rights, Good luck! :)
