    A valued member of PSX-SCENE, DanyL has released a handy program in grabbing those PS3 Update PUP's that are no longer available directly from Sony.

    Features:
    1. Show you the MD5 of the .pup file you chose.
    2. Show you which firmware is in the .pup file.
    3. Tell you if the firmware is Jailbreakable or downgradeable.
    4. Built-in updater.

    Currently I got the following firmwares at the database:
    * Original US 3.41
    * US 3.21
    * US 3.42
    * US 3.30
    * US 3.01
    * Modified 3.41
    * US 3.15
    * US 3.40
    * US 3.50
    * US 3.10
    * US 3.00
    * v3.55
    * Quiet release US 3.41

    If you want to submit firmwares to the program just post here a comment with the following details:
    Firmware:
    MD5:
    JailBreakable
    Downgradeable:

    Enjoy!

    I don't really see the point of it, but any contribution to the scene is a great one.

    Well, if you got a .pup laying around and you want to check what firmware is it or does it JBable\Downgradeable then this tool could be usful for you too..

    don't worry i won't leak the md5 checker
    Don't tell anybody

    But no, It doesn't work like that.
    It all stored at my server.
    Why didn't I used this method? because maby (For example!) tommorow or maby next week there will be a JB for 3.55 and then I will need to update the program itself, wich I don't want to do every time there is new JB.

    Anyway - I gonna upload the source in a few hours (need to licence it first).

    You might want to rephrase that before this thread gets flooded with people assuming you mean that there definitely will be one tomorrow or next week. You know, the same people who look at the first post and the thread title and still ask silly questions.

    I already have a tool called PS3UPDAT.PUP Version which tells me which fw is really inside the pup (in case some douch/sony tries to fool you).
    So i really don't see the point of this tool.

    According to eurasia: "So far the OS/firmware releases are multi region (USA/PAL/JAP), same data/file (bit for bit) is used for all consoles across regions.".

    If that's true why not implement it in your program?
