I bet most people who have been using 3.55 CFW online are going to be banned regardless. You guys had a very long stretch where Sony let you go online, and yes I do mean 'let'. Sony isn't stupid, they could have fixed the DSN trick a lot quicker and also have released 3.56 a lot faster than they did. They weren't just sitting there having a laugh and pouring ****tails, they would have been watching and recording console ID's to ban you guys.

IMO the only reason we have lasted this long is because Sony have let us, in order for them to keep the ball in their court. Once the do initiate bans then that will give us feedback on what they can/cant see us doing and then we will overcome it and vies versa. (like the other poster talked about the 'cat & mouse game'). Luckily though it seems on the Xbox 360 scene the hackers have won the cat & mouse game for good, but I dare say MS has some left over console IDs they can ban in another ban wave in order to give us one last hollow scare and to discourage a few people from taking up hacking.

Any way back to topic - It's great that we're are learning more ways to influence the PS3 and how it talks to PSN. That will be the way forward in permanently getting around their security, however you could be waiting a fairly long time and you may definately get a ban or two along the way.

So to sum up there is no point everybody testing this unless you're a really eager beaver and will die if you dont go online with CFW 3.55. Other wise just wait or upgrade to 3.56, because belive me they will find a way to downgrade in time.

P.S.
It is important we get a few devs running this hack in a few dozen consoles with a different set ups to see if some survive getting banned and if other do in order to learn as much as possible and make as much progress as possible (we can also see how effective those log clearers really are).

the PS3 belongs to us and we should be allowed to use it the way we want,

i can't afford to download pirated games as i'm on mobile broadband with 3-network.
Games are expensive enough for mates to warrant refusal to lend (incase of loss or
damage to their game disk)
