Of course not in the same method like on CFW/dongle's and QA/Debug consoles.

Like I say before, it's for archieving purposes and speed up instalation in future. For pirates it's useless.

what about if i used my friends ps3 to log into my account and download the stuff to my computer, than install in my CFW ps3 afterwards?

What's the point of archiving if you can't install it?
Seems useless to me.
I thought the program tricked your ps3 into thinking it's was communicating with a legit psn server and would install that way throughthe proxy.
If not, then IMO it's useless.
