seems to be for 3.40/3.50 - and if so then they have really done it this time

so prehaps its time to give them some credit now especially if this all works out, cant really see any other reason to release this updater as what would be the point !!

I think downgrading is a way to use Jailbreak on 3.42 and 3.5, too. So in my opinion there is no sure sign they actually can work with 3.42 and 3.5.
I think it's about how u read the things they tell us.

But seems nice so far - much more then i expected from psjb.
So let's hope they prove us wrong and they found a solution for fw 3.50.
Even if its a downgrade this would be huge, because it would proove, that it is possible to downgrade ps3 firmware and then it's not far to real cfw

so upgrade to 3.50 to play online with original games, and downgrade from 3.50 to 3.41 to play games in jailbreak?

i highly doubt it will be a upgrade / downgrade, from what I gather it is a CFW to emulate 3.50

Even if true, it would do us really no good because all of us want to play our games online. And those who have a PSJailbreak are already on 3.41. Theres no need to downgrade.

I disagree, being able to downgrade means A LOT.

For me it would mean I could finally upgrade my internal HDD without losing all my hard-earned trophies. I could upgrade to 3.5, sync my trophies, upgrade HDD, and then downgrade to back 3.41.

It would also mean that they have deciphered the upgrade process (PUP files IIRC) which would lead to some very nice things
