wow i hope it's able to receive updates i already pre-ordered mine
This image here is the actual 64-byte static data:
I can't make out the rest of the byte sequence as most of it are behind the text and some are blotted out. WHY??!
8C 00 00 00 00 3D FE 78
80 00 00 90 00 ?D E? 88
80 00 00 00 00 33 E7 20
E8 ?? FF ?? E3 63 FF F8
E8 A3 OC 1? 38 63 10 00
7C 04 28 00 40 82 FF F4
38 C? F? 20 7C C9 03 A6
4E 80 04 20 04 00 00 00
This makes it more annoying. Are they trying to hide something?
maybe, but you know how it goes... 1st was the delay, 2nd was the updates, and i am with you that they may overlooked something..... but i am starting to loose faith in this.

As far as I can tell the only basis for assuming that the JB unit is not updateable is a single statement from gamefreax.de, for which they never stated their reasons.
To me that is not sufficient reason to accept such a statement as truth.
Especially not when others who seem familiar with this kind of hardware say that such units (for entirely different purposes) normally are updateable through the USB interface.
Even accepting that gamefreax.de honestly have the opinion that it is impossible to update, I never accept any opinion just because someone else holds it. I need a reason stated and/or an explanation given as to WHY their statement would be correct. Because even if they are perfectly honest with us, they may still be honestly mistaken themselves.
Similar reasoning naturally applies to the original claims that the unit is updateable, which I also can not accept as gospel without proof or at least a reasonable explanation as to why and how that updating would work.
At present all we can do about it is to keep an open mind, until someone presents real proof either way.

Exactly! Everything is all rumors until proven! One statement from 1 source and everyone believes it.

You realize, a lot of teams shit talk other teams in hopes to ruin their sales on purpose.
I do agree with the previous two statements. We need confirmation before falling into someone's initial claims. However, if this does turn out to be true this is going to cause a major outburst from buyers.
Glad I waited a bit. now onto consolepro.nl
I don't mind if it stops working for 35 euro.
that's a hell of a lot cheaper than the 170 dollar.
Since it works basicaly like a pandora batery, they may want to say that you can update software side, just they made the bkp manage they might have something that changes either the code inside the dongle itself or even the ps3 fw somehow. Who knows...
This deep analysis was done on a prototype, the final product is totally different...
Yes but if they can reverse this completely, it still achieves the same thing as the final product.
