Ok, im really a noob at this. I recently bought the ps3key


And my ps3 is in factory 3.55, i have the first ps3 that was released(fat 60gb). I saw that i needed PSGroove. So i come here. I download a pack with all the hex files but, what the heck do i do with the hex files? And i havent seen a folder that could be for Ps3Key. I dont know how to get my Ps3 into service mode. I have the Lv2diag.self file, i put it on my usb drive(not the ps3key) and it doesnt do anything. Help me out please.

I'm not quite sure if your post belongs in this thread, but here ya go ill help you out because i'm feeling generous. Admins please remove any links if its not allowed.

Sorry buddy but that PS3Key is garbage now, at least for you. (It's doesn't work for firmware version 3.55). You can use Geohot's Jailbreak Update over the Top of the PS3 3.55 System Version allowing you to install Homebrew, such as emulators and what not. It's easy, make sure your PS3 is on Firmware Version 3.55. then download this http://geohot.com/jailbreak.zip after downloading unzip it and put it on your thumb drive as a normal PS3 update (x:/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP). Turn on your PS3, Put the thumb drive in, go to System > Update > Update via Storage Device, click next/accept. After your console beeps 4 or 5 times then shuts off turn it back on and your done. You now will have the option to 'Install Package Files' under the Game Menu. Hope this help's

I already had that. I already had the geohot custom firmware but i reverted back to 3.55. Should i have stayed on 3.55JB in order to do this?
Then what ps3 dongle do you recommend that is used most?
