Yea not really sure on why some people have it and others dont. I know I didnt and a few other people during the initial tests of the original said they didnt as well. It might only be an issue if you flash from a P3 Droid OC Kernel to Droid-Freedom.
girlsname, what are you using to create your newboot.img? ive gotten as far as compiling the driver for the droid and loading it with just random newboot.img files that i have found from other packages. Right now the droid loads the driver but as soon as you plug it in usb, the phone reboots. Do i need to integrate PSfreedom into the kernel somewhere else and then generate a new boot.img with 'mkbootimg'?
You dont need to create another newboot.img each time you want to update. Just simple copy the .ko from the psfreedom compile to the /system/lib/modules from the Droid Freedom zip and then rezip it.
Now, if you are tweaking with the kernel build then grab the two perl scripts from this page:

Then youll need a boot.img from a cyanogenmod release to unpack. Once unpacked to a folder you will need to edit the sholes init file in the folder to add the command to "insmod" the psfreedom.ko on boot. Once thats done you just take your zImage from your compile and place it in the same folder as the extracted ramdisk and follow the syntax for the repack script. Take that newboot.img and overwrite the old one from the zip.
i must have another issue then. Maybe the driver didnt compile so flawlessly. Ive tried using your newboot.img and when i plug it in to anything usb the droid reboots. When you were compiling PSfreedom did you just runand then from the PSFreedom directory, 'make droid' ?Code:export ARCH=arm

first i compiled the omap kernel and then ran make droid from the PSfreedom folder and i never got any errors, but obviously ive got an issue somewhere. On the phone in 'dmesg' i can see the driver load, and when i change payloads i can see the driver reflect the change. but when i go to plug it in, it just reboots..?

Instead of the one in the tutorial. I was really tired when I first put the instructions out and just now realized that. Grab that source and compile it then compile the psfreedom against that. Im so sorry for wasting your time.

After following the steps ever time I try to compile the kernel I get this

Are you talking about the Droid Incredible? If so you should probably make a new thread or find one about that. I cant help you at all with that and its off topic for this one.
