It works.
He probably forgot jig=1, I did too the first time.
Thanks man.
thanks for porting this over to the palm pre. As my name says I'm a complete noob to jailbreaking the ps3 and was hoping you can provide me with some instructions. I currently have version 3.50 on my PS3.
How do I downgrade it to 3.41 using the files you posted? You mentioned something about jig? Which of the attachments in the original post do I need to use to downgrade it? (psfreedom-pl3-jig.tar.gz)? How do I use this to downgrade the PS3? Also what is this jig=1 you mentioned?
After I downgrade it to 3.41, which of the attached files should I use to jailbreak it?
Do I have to compile the files myself or can I use what you provided and just follow the instructions from here:
I assume I have to connect my phone to the PS3 everytime I use to jailbreak it?Copy and install psfreedom.ko module to Palm Pre
1. Connect your Palm pre to PC on drive mode and copy psfreedom.ko to it
2. ssh to your pre (or open terminal app) and insmod the module:
Code:
insmod /media/internal/psfreedom.ko
Now you should be ready to go
1. Turn completely off your PS3 with firmware 3.41
2. Connect your Palm Pre to the usb of PS3
3. Turn on your PS3 followed by rapidly pressing eject
4. Wait for your PS3 to reboot
5. Enjoy
Thanks so much for your help, let me know if you accept any donations.
Yes that the latest one which support entering service mode.
To go into service mode follow the steps you quoted but add jig=1 to the insmod lineAfter that you can follow any of the other tutorials for downgrading.Code:insmod /media/internal/psfreedom.ko jig=1
You can use the same file just load it without the jig=1 parameter or you can use psfreedom-hermesv4.tar.gz if you prefer Hermes version..
You don't have to compile, instruction are there for reference and for people that want to compile their own version.
Yes
Lol I knew I was missing something, ok it works thanx blake
Hi blake_zero are you going to be compiling new modules based on hermesv4b payload?
Tested out the current releases with the latest open manager and gaia manager, was trying to get mem patch mode working, for new releases.
With trying to enable memory patch modes.
hermes-psn - unsupported payload, does not change version number
hermesv4 - payload supported, but does not work well, I'm guessing it's patching the wrong memory addresses
PL3-psn - unsupported payload, does not change version number
PL3 - unsupported payload
psn35-spoof- unsupported payload, fw version reported as 3.5
Tested with a 3.41 slim console.

Hi,
I am trying to compile this for WebOS 2.1.0. I downloaded the kernels from Palm's opensource site and compiled the kernel, then linked it with the PSFreedom source.
The result I got was a kernel module that *will* load (the ones compiled for 1.4.5 understandably don't work) but doesn't actually work. I don't get the install pkg files option on the XMB. Shouldn't vanilla PSFreedom do that?
Sorry, I've only ever used the compiled modules people have been distributing around. Thanks!
