It seems to be a really paranoid theory but could make sense.
Merging a PS3 serial + jailbreak one could be the hint for this specific one shot/downgrade. Hope it's not, otherwise it could be a real pita to reverse and duplicate.

If the jigs need to be signed with sonys master keys, it would be impossible, without leaking the master keys too.

I understand we were all new at some point, and I never said 10 posts makes me laugh. What is it with the posters here putting words in other people's mouths? I simply don't understand why someone very new would tell someone else (who raised a valid point, whether you like it or not) how they should be posting.

Are you saying most of my posts are moronic? I've compiled PKG's for people here (often the first to do so when just source code is released), released backgrounds for apps (over 50 so far), tested bad-hex's, posted front-page news, answered questions, donated to homebrew devs, tested/reported back on issues, etc...

I guess because you don't agree with my concerns, that makes my posts moronic? Perhaps if my posts included pictures of puppies I'd earn your approval...

i don't think the jig need the ps3 serial number imagine how it's hard for the sony to repair a ps3 after that

If I have a 3.5 fw exploit and some people do have it , I don't release it right away. Exploits don't grow on trees, you know.
I wait for at least a year before I release the new jail-breaker.

I have to admit that I haven't read to whole thread. however i've read a few posts stating "zomfg, the jailbreak team are such fags for limiting this to one downgrade." and "once it's cracked, we'll make the exploit work for 3.50 work too".
Well, I'm not so sure about this. No doubt PSdowngrade is real but tink about this theory.

Also, as far as i know, not one service jig has been leaked to the public right?
Well Sony obviously want their Jig so be safe, so if there were one key, that works for all consoles, they would be pretty ****ed if one got leaked as it wouldn't be too hard to make copies.
Now I've also read that you need to send some kind of serial to the sony team, we suspected it was the PSjailbreak serial. But the PSjailbreak team isn't dumb (obviously) they should know this will be cracked in a matter of hours.
So how can the PSjailbreak team be so sure this works only with original PSjailbreak devices?
Well, that if you need to send them your PSjailbreak serial AND your PS3 serial?
I'm not talking about some sort of check on the jig side for your sony serial.
I'm talking about Sony verifying it's a valid jig.
And if PSjailbreak really leaked the master keys, they would be the only one (besides sony ;-)) who could digitally sign jigs.
There are a few other strange things that support this theory, PSdowngrade isn't mentioned on the PSjailbreak site, why? because it's defenitly illegal! PSjailbreak SHOULD imho still be legal.
This way the PSjailbreak team can "easily" say "we're psjailbreak, not psdowngrade".
And since they wan't to make money, the're not just providing the master keys. While this wouldn't explain why you can downgrade only once, it would explain why you can downgrade just one console ;-)

Less than one week if I recall.

As soon as they got their hands on it and got the epoxy glue off it was cloned.
