But to stay on topic, in service mode you can neither run unsigned packages nor you can have access to LV1. So nothing more than downgrading and diagnostics there.

What about if sony launch's another update , disabling the ability to update the nand from a superior version being in Service/Factory Mode ? :wow:

ok , I have some good news to share, I was able to take a factory/service mode ps3 that i bricked out of bricked and factory/service mode...I also updated it from 1.31 to 3.41 in the process using the downgrader files ;).

i can confirm the files work as intended but i do not have a psjailbreak to test to put it in factory service mode as mine was already in it

So people with a ps3 stuck in this mode can now get them out and flash with 3.41

and thanks go out to person who sent me files

Doubt that seriously, What they could do however is to update the Challenge/Responses for later firmwares, but this won't do them much good, not to mention they have to update their own jigs.

Do not let the actions of some members scare you into thinking your opinions are not welcome here.

We are a welcoming scene and all input is welcome and encouraged here. I only joined in August however by reading and posting, i have learnt a lot of stuff here and am able to help others out now.
