gonna try this out later on MSPR
Can someone please explain the function of this a bit more in depth? Does it split the 4GB+ file(s) to be stored on an external drive for backup/transfer purposes? Or does it split the files into some type of playable form directly from Open/Gaia Manager?
Hello
It splits the files up so the game can be placed on an external drive formatted FAT32 for archive purposes or prior to copying to the internal to play it.
You still cannot play games with large files from external and that is unlikely to change anytime soon
If it really does that, its nice. Going to test it out now. :PMaking things easy for the user to get their games working on external hard drives.
EDIT: There are no options for it to modify the game itself to support the new splitted files, so that will never make them to work on External Hard Drive. And it splits them the same way Gaia Manager does, so this will only work for archiving purpose to transfer on internal HD. At least for now... In future releases maybe that will change.
Though this tool might be useful specially for those who download pirated games, I don't see any use for those who makes legal backups for personal use since that Gaia Manager can already do that.
wtf? Doesn't gaia manager split >4gb files automatically already?
