tried it, doesn't work. On 3.55 Kmeav and 5.50 Gen D3 on PSP.

Tried everything including pressing the Start and Eject buttons quickly, starting the PS3 normally and also tried by entering into recovery mode on PSP and trying to USB connect from there

You need to hold the power button down for a little while till you get a "beep" when turning the console on.

What firmware version does my PS3 need to be on for this to work?
As of this writing, you need to be on firmware version 3.55 or earlier. DO NOT USE IT ON FIRMWARE VERSION 3.56 OR HIGHER UNTIL YOU READ OTHERWISE ELSEWHERE.

firmware version 3.55 or earlier but dose not work on 3.56..lol isn't that the only earlier one out there..lol

should have it only works on FW 3.55 only..lol

in the description its says you need kernal mode i thought kernal mode only works on old psp 1000 far as i know. i might be wrong.

Here is signed version of PS3Jig, might eliminate the need for kernel mode, i dunno not an expert on PSP. Someone want to test this out? i dont have my psp at the moment to test it.

Too Little too late, this may have been helpful 6 months ago when everyone gave a shit. obviously these people haven't herd of cfw
