But like usual Sony is still being inovative... the 360 uses a already designed processor... so once again MS takes the road more traveled... and my bible says it leads to HELL! LOL... oh crap... sorry that was just too fun
anyways... the tri-core (dur) power PC chip was made by IBM for the mac... but MS snatched it up... Sony and IBM built from scratch the nasty little beast called the Cell for use in the PS3 and for other items.... But atleast Sony is using a proven method, GL.... this should make programming graphics easier (which seemed to be the biggest complaint in the homebrew catagory).
My biggest thing is 'IF' in the future Sony may release an assisting module (NETworked CELL processor) to help the PS3 with future tasks... this could easily connect to the Gigabit ethernet port with no loss to the internet connectivity of the PS3... and allow for a clustering of machines to accomplish more intense tasks.... such as helping in a networked game... one extra NetCell for a group of 16 PS3's... or if you wish to turn your PS3 into a Linux power house adding as many NetCells as needed to be the baddest ass on the block.... I'll take one!
