PS3 Owner Refunded (for lost of Other OS) due to v3.21

A very smart owner, was able to get a partial "refund" on his PS3 system, and still was able to keep the unit to play games, after complaining to Amazon that he had lost the "Other OS" feature due to Sony's new firmware v3.21, using laws in the EU.

if its within the store warranty (90 days) you will be able to take it back to the store but your not gonna get a partal refund and be able to keep your machine unless the foor price is now lower

Even if this guy bought a 60GB fairly recently, this probably wouldn't work in the US. I just wish that Sony would reimburse us with PSN credit.

Sadly thats the difference between the US and Europe.

Europe does not take crap from companies like this, thats why sony saying their terms and conditions don't mean crap in Europe.

It may be a little tricky to get Europe to take it but Sony has done the exsact same thing to them and has yet to see any legal issues due to it and I doubt very much they will

For the same reason European governments are not gonna do anything about it ether, this is just one decent Amazon seller who chose to give a partial refund. No government is going to force Sony to reimplement other OS, yes its a dirty deal but nobody important cares enough to do anything about it.

In all these country's Sony can say the individual is agreeing to allow them to remove the feature by agreeing to install the system update. It would be different if the machine came out of the box with fw 3.21 and the box had other OS listed as a feature but this is not the case.
