can you confirm it uses a proxy to simply get online then?
My assumption from the news post was that it somehow uses a part of OFW 3.60 to allow full access without the need of proxies etc?
Less of the racist bullshit or I won't just be deleting posts next time.
By the way I want to share a translation of the rest of naima's post that looked interesting. As I said before she has a Master in Cryptography (or a PhD don't remember) and you can tell she knows a lot about that. Anyway here it is:
Source: [Nuevo] CFW 3.55/60 Hybrid - PSN Ready (1 de 39) @ ElOtroLado.net PlayStation 3 Modchips y SoftmodsQuote:
After several testing I found the root of the problem.
Sony has made changes in the authentication protocol for 3.60.
Any attempt at spoofing the version number is detected by the PSN and we get the update message back.
Charles, f!ckPSN, the spoofing code in my CFW, PS3ITA, etc. all of them stop working while they try to spoof 3.60.
Spoofing to 3.56 still works, but creating a CFW 3.55/3.56 spoofed is not worth the try because it'll work just for a few days.
This will take a long time (translator's note: she means circumventing this), it requires a thorough research to find the response that PSN is waiting back from a legit 3.60.
I repeat, no spoofing method work with PSN if it says we are 3.60. All known methods still work for 3.56 and PSN lets us in. Even with 3.55 and that surprises me.
Here's the v1 of the CFW to anybody interested in a 3.60 spoof with CA of Charles included for research.
For now I can't do anything more.
For the people that tested v2 of my CFW and got an error connecting and asking for an update, it was because of this reason.
The v2 always identified itself as 3.60 and that doesn't work in the new PSN
Ok so.. what exactly are we left with then if the spoofing doesn't work? The title of the thread sounds exciting but does it actually do anything more than current cfw?
