Yep - they are. especially with cowardice exemplified like above.

Anybody who says they aren't winning (Sony) is kidding themselves.

I don't see that they can win.

They can kill further linux development stone dead, they can frighten off homebrew developers, they can probably scare off anyone considering making more CFW too.

But the thing that hits their bottom line, the thing that they wage war on and spend millions upon millions with the RIAA and MPAA to combat - it's too late to stop rampant piracy. 3.55 CFW exists. Backup managers exist. The entire library up until now is able to be ripped off at will by people that like that sort of thing.

They may be able to stop people running new games on old CFW, but the underground will probably find a way around that eventually too.

Anyway, no more sony products for me, ever.

Most are hacking their own machines. its not like they are hacking other peoples computers. Hacking is used in too general of a term.

If someone wants CFW i see no problem with it. They choose CFW or psn. And not all CFW users are pirates (another term thrown around too much ).

Its their machines,they can do what they want with it. They cheat on psn they will most likely get banned.

And before you accuse me of pirating and using CFW i currently am running the stock firmware

I hate people keep calling us pirates as we want to explore our own PS3's not sonys but ours and we choose not to be on PSN and use CFW and get linux back on them which was ours to begin with till sony removed it. Then so be it.

This is a sad day for hackers all around. Sony's dangerous message is now a global issue.

This is the beginning of a new era for console hacking/modding. More and more we will see anonymous releases, from anonymous groups. Most people on here won't remember how it used to be 10+ years ago, but it's going to come back now.
