guess the only solution to go with is to have extra $$ and jsut buy another s3up:

Well think of it this way... basically its a fight that WERE never going to win against sony... Sony carry all of the big guns and if we cant run the games on 3.50fw that are required to run... then how are we going to run them on 3.55... you might as well buy another ps3 like im going to do and keep my other jailbroken one... but in the end... SONY will win

that's not necessarily true, i mean if by some kind of miracle CFW happens to show up at any point of time, then all this will be no issue, heck i mean if GameOS (if homebrew can implement it back that is) can be the key to all of this then be it...guess we will just have to wait and see...

True but look at the psp scene... ever since Dark Alex left... there havent been a 6.00m33 cfw and dont get me wrong the ps3 scene isnt dead... but overall Sony will just keep on updating and updating... unil there be a 4.00 update... and the ps3 is Sony's biggest investment so dont expect the devs to catch up.. before it be like the ps2... obsolete

the thing is that Sony is more serious than Microsoft or Nintendo to protect their system. the hackers took 4 months to find a hole in the 3.50 firmware and sony patched it in 1 week.

@PHPMyPS3 but then again is much easier to patch an exploit having the sources than reverse engineering something that's compiled and you don't have the sources...
