This is great news. We're a step closer to dual-booting OFW/MFW, and one step closer to getting netflix back![]()
There could be a new update 3.65 or so after psn is backup and running so i doubt that there will be a 3.60. Wait and see what changes sony make this month before you start asking for new cfw 3.60 and upwards. And ofcourse if you cant wait theres always the official update.
Nice to hear it!
Actually I want to say thank you to those people:
Thank you graf,kweaw, geohot, failoverflow.
But the biggest "thank you" goes to "Sony".
Thank you Sony that you removed OtherOS, without you have it done----we would always have ps3 like it was in beginning , but now we have CFW--Homebrews----OtherOS(Linux) back, and also PSX-SCENE is alive now.
Thanks to everyone, to psx-scene, to every psx-scene visitor, to the scene itself.
Sony --we outsmarted you....

Yay! Full linux support is back. Now hopefully it can be optimized to use the full PS3 resources. I got into my PS3 post linux removal so I don't know if it suffered from resource clogging like the PS3 browser does. I really want to stream vids online w/o getting an out of memory error lol.
And although many devs might stop working on cracking future OFW, I really hope they develop some backup support for future games, at the very least for retail discs. As much as I enjoy the full linux box capabilities I dont want to stick on 3.55 and miss out on future game releases, after all I can have linux on a real computer. I still think the best thing about back-ups is NOT pirating, but rather being able to condense my game library. I had over 200 games for PS2 (most bought used of course) and would have hated searching through a pile of discs just to find one game. I would love for that ability for PS3 to stay around.
Having linux back means it will be easy to develop, so hopefully this encourages more devs!
Just my 2 cents
Original Purpose for Linux on the PS3.....
Do you have a computer??? if the answer is yes then Linux on PS3 can do all your computer does, except 3D games (In Linux, access to the RSX graphics card is restricted).
Emulators, Firefox, email, instant messengers, Open Office suite... all is available at your fingertips!!! Pretty cool?!?! and all that out of the box, no modding required! Props to Sony for that!

I do understand your point, but that just deserves aIMO.
Sure, you should not go out and post something that:
But who the f*ck cares? At least he does something with the tools available, and let it be writing up a tutorial/renaming files. I'm sure somebody will appreciate this and by following the process you can learn a lot about how your ps3 does things. This whole efame shit is really the reason, why the scene can't progress as a whole, and you are just increasing the focus on this shit with your post. So why can't a new, end-user friendly guide how to get the most out of your ps3 be on front page? Think of it this way: Where would we be now, if scientists would hold back information from their "scene" (like mathieu does for us)? Right, there would never be progress, progress is almost always achieved TOGETHER. Bring what you got, then let others go from there, if its good enough,...May 4, 2011 at 6:44 am
I have finished what graf and geohot failed to do. I am the master HV dev. glevand for details.
btw, I'm sure this was not released by the real graf, because he a) would not write such a comment and b) its his work, only repacked, so no point anyway.
mathisgod will bring us the first unrestricted, true ps3 optimized linux kernel, NOT...
Yes, it's the good old pessimistic/resident enforcer again! miss your bashing sometimes, it seems your much more friendly, since you became a mod![]()
EDIT: I vote for a dislike-button
EDIT2: @sabin: professionalism you could call it, or lets just say, the fun is over![]()
