well people are trying out all kinds of things but it takes time

I was just wondering:

how does sony block the usb jailbreak ?

Do they only revoke the current widespread usb key we all use ?

In case they just block this key (or many others), maybe a new key could work on fw > 3.41 ?

of course, if they fixed the payload injection, even a new usb dongle key can do nothing.

i would like to try a new key, but i'm using a f.....g ps3key and we can do nothing with this (even change for a pl3 payload).

Even though it provides nothing new from what we already have, I think it will at least provide a great learning experience for novice devs in the scene. Something big is just around the corner... I can feel it.

with that being said, can someone please hook a guy up with the proper files needed to succesfully downgrade from 3.5-3.41 for the usb
I havent had to downgrade ,but my nefew got a 3.5 for x-mas and Id like to help him out.I dont need a tut,just the files needed for USB.
if I understand correctly,I obviously cant back up the dev flash 2 or 3 on a 3.5
so how can I safely DG 3.5 without the loss of bd?

They fixed the buffer overrun exploit that was used to inject the payload.

Sony have done nothing to ban any usb devices. AFAIK they only banned fake ps3 controllers from connecting via bluetooth.
They definately didn't ban any service mode dongles. You can still enter service mode with the AAAA key in 3.55, they revoked the official software that was used to do the downgrade.

I don't know what is going to come out of the CCC talk, but so far the PS3 is far from being an epic fail.
We're currently just scratching around in the dirt for scraps & it's slim pickings.

I'm not trying to deminish the achievements, but everyone thought that Sony would be forced to issue new dongles. Except they are far cleverer than that, they just need to issue a new .self.
