Anyone else see the irony in this being released 24hrs after the "i have it but wont share it" posting . thank you for the info and look forward to bending Sony over with this one.
I think this news made my PS3 have a Cellgasm.
"cold reset which still has acess to the memory from gameos"
Sounds like a modchip now would be possible in the 'unhackable' PS3s. We can now see what the PS3 does from step 0 on boot, so we can also determine any keys...
Im thinking that we could 'prep' gameOS with infos, and cold reboot, hook the 'prepped' info and force execution from the get-go - on any PS3 unit. Or better yet, get the current keys so we can just reflash the units with a 'signed' update. Hopefully Im not reading too much into this.
Lol almost everyday on this forum i have to search the whole internet, just to understand a little what you guys are talking about.
I cant even begin to understand how you find bugs in a firmware... If i understand this right you have to soldering and connecting points?
Big up for the guys who understand this stuff and are helping the community!
Yeah, you glitch the Cell reset line for 60ns appearently. System restarts but memory isn't reset. GeoHot's ram glitch was for 40ns, same idea. you told the system the ram was blanked but in reality it retained its data through a reboot, which caused it to do funky things on restart. GeoHots glitch you needed OtherOS for. This one.. not sure
Well now someone has pointed the way
Maybe all the forum trolls can develop this and get what they want from it
Because if I was mathue, after all the shite he was given for not releasing his
