Now to make use of this you need to download from Codename: REBUG their official untouched custom firmware for v3.55.1, then download this BSpatch file and apply it to get you a new “PS3 Advanced Mode CFW PUP” file that you then flash to your console.

First, I don’t recommend you suddenly jumping into the hot frying pan and start downloading and flashing your PS3 console unless you are already totally familar with flashing custom firmwares, and know what to do if something goes wrong!

Second, just because they say (hint hint) in regard to just after them saying it has dev_blind in it, does not mean it can in-fact go online correctly with the PSN network with all the features of the latest stock retail firmware, but it just might as it was not something I was willing to test.

Finally, I did test the Black Screen Fix and it did in-fact run some games (like Uncharted 2), that I was originally having problems running after updating my PS3 to the official Codename: REBUG firmware, and the advance mode menu looks neat, I just wish I had the time to write an in-depth review after trying out all the various options

So anyone looked at the advanced patch?

ran the advanced patch instals 3.61 spoof with what looks like dev options however now unable to conect to psn or when trying to establish conection settings it just returns "error 80710101 dns error".

im gona run dev_blind to re-insert my origonal flash to see if i can down grade back to ofw 3.55 as unable to do so via media storage not detecting it.

multiman and all games work even the black screen games.

would really like to see some info on some of the other settings as i suspect they are deade ends ( do nothing as have tested dual settings for debug and it will not change...HOWEVER this is new and i may just be doing something rong lol.

the advanced mode patch... isn't this just debug menu 2 in the rebug selector?... and also the 3.61 spoofer.. isn't it just the unofficial one every1 used previously??

EDIT: getting same 80710101 dns error obviously looks like privacy patch must have been applied.

EDIT 2: that 'PS3 Easy Spoof TCL mod' doesn't even work in mfw bulider 0.2 just gives me an error...

after down grading i found this little bit of info out i posted it up on ngu but its here now too.

emulators working on 3.55 sony’s ofw

hi guys i just happend to find this out as after trying out the new advanced rebug and found had no internet access according to the conections settings ( but was able to go on web browser) i decided to downgrade via dev_blind method and replace with origonal files.

1. first off make sure you are running cfw 3.55 or rebug 3.55.1

2. now install the latest multiman the version with the emu’s and install the emu’s.

3. now set up the emu’s roms on the ps3 ( dev_hdd0/game/snes90000/usdir/roms) for snes for megadrive its dev_hdd0/game/gen00001/usdir/roms).

4. now return to xmb and install ofw 3.55 ofw ( sony firmware ).

now when you goto multiman you will see a screen stating that bdemu not fuctioning or in incorect location.

goto retro section and select your rom.

there you go not sur how usefull this is but its there 4 all to use.

Hmmmmm. I wonder (but doubt it) if this will allow me to preregister my pen account to my ps3 so I can continue with my game saves....it sux since I am so far in a bunch of games but cannot continue since I restored my ps3 and it wiped the pen account but kept the game saves

i wouldn't bother with this, just keep the clean rebug cfw and use rebub selector, go to debug menu 2 which will have all the 'advanced mode' menus

also the spoof to 3.61 is pointless on this since it already disables psn communication hence the dns error. plus you can use the unofficial spoofer that was made for psn access ... or jus stay spoofed at 3.60 in the rebug selector in rebug mode.
