Along with a couple of free 3D updates to games on the Playstation Store, but some others will cost money to "unlock" the 3D features of your game!
Those that buy 3D Bravia TV's this summer will get "voucher codes" to unlock even more goodies. -- Sony's Big Ad campaign will start early on June 6th!

Well, let's be reasonable here. It's fair that they don't want to give away 3D for free on the games they sold already. But in the future all the games will have the 3D feature. What they are doing is giving people who are willing to pay, an option to buy 3D support for already released games. I don't see any ripping off on doing that... lolQuote:

sony is trying to milk the customer out of their money on every step with ps3. it's really getting ridiculous. i hope ps3 gets hacked, because it will make sony feel the pressure, try harder and appreciate the customers that will stick to original games.
I'm hoping codemasters support this on their upcoming F1 game, I heard in the turkey practice sessions that fom had the bbc trialing 3d cameras for future 3d footage, colorcode 3d perhaps that's the only viable option for freeview viewers I think :chinscrat
Hmm, i was looking forward to this 3D feature too, but now that i know you may need to buy an 'unlock' for some games, im not interested anymore!!
Its bad enough i have to pay a lot for a 3D TV system, and games with 3D included, but to have to buy an "unlock" for 'some games' is just pushing it too far!!
The biggest thing most people don't know or read yet, is the PS3 only has HDMI v1.2 and to fully support 3D at 1080p on your costly 3D TV, you need HDMI v1.4, and that is not changable with any software update.
So what Sony is going to do is run half-frame on the PS3, so any game that is 1080p in 2D will only be 720p when in 3D mode, and if the game is only a 720p game, then it gets chop all the way down to 480p when in 3D mode, this is the only way to get 3D working on the current gen of PS3 systems with the older HDMI interface.
Of course you never know, Sony might release a newer PS3 Slim with an upgraded HDMI port, we will see if this happens this XMAS or maybe 2011.

Thanks for the link to that video, if people watch it, the good parts or bad parts regarding the "so-so" semi-update of the PS3 are at the last few minutes.Quote:
