PS3 3.55 CFW WITH PEEK/POKE! - BACKUP MANAGERS CAN NOW WORK!

My thoughts on this..

The dongle isnt that bad really...it takes 2 secs to boot the ps3, but upgrade to 3.55 and risk a brick in the future or 1 day come home and see its not working for some stupid reason ..that would suck more than using a dongle.

Think I will stay on 3.41 for a good while unless something crazy happens..for me just being able to boot games from XMB aint worth it..I like the managers with covers and stuff.

But the day this JB stuff makes XMB similar to Xbox I will for sure upgrade to it, also a VLC player or something..then I am deffo down

+1 here. XMB is my only goal with my PS3. For now i'll stick with my Minimus V1. I have 2 PS3 anyway and plenty of original games. So it is a good advance but too early to shoot out loud VICTORY.

Ok, v2 will install, but it's still now working. They're not sure if peek/poke is properly implemented as they're still getting hard shut downs when trying to poke memory that is set to RWX. They can currently write to the rx and rw sections, but not rwx. This is a big deal!! So, if you want to install something that has the potential to screw up your PS3 and doesn't even work yet, go right ahead and install v2.

What is it exactly you guys consider to be a nOOb these days?

Maybe someone who doesn`t do adequate research before upgrading from their precious 3.41?

The same people who are commanding backup managers and who are asking "Will this brick my PS3" etc etc. It is needless clutter.

People do need to ask to gain knowledge, but these people who want to be heroes to all their playground friends should actually learn and not expect to be spoonfed.

Stop updating to every WIP firmware, I swear there's going to be alot of "help my ps3 is dead topics"

This isn't a race of who gets to install a proper cfw first. When it gets done it will be posted for everyone to see in the front page. You're asking for something to happen to your ps3 when you constantly install experimental firmwares. These are NOT drivers guys, you **** this up it's toast.

Patience is a virtue, you've waited this long, wait a bit more. I think we're going to have to go full retard and post everything in caps so people with low attention span can read up.

Thanks for the update bro. I'll patiently sit back and wait on v3.41 now and see what evolves over the next little while. Im in no rush and thanks for all the hard work you guys put into this. To everybody else b!tchin: Patience.
