Pixel has just announced ps2 packer .03b on our forums. This version is still in its early stages so please feel free to test and post your findings. So far the major changes have been the addition of more compression stubs, most noteably a lzo(which sjcrunch is based on) and a null stub for test purposes.

The author has also graciously allowed us to mirror the files here.

update pixel has updated his package to .03b2 with UCL compression stub giving much better compression results!

They all worked for me. I am running them from ps2link, ps2menu, and dms3's dev.olution mode. All of them are working for me, for any packer. I actually tested it on ps2link itself and ps2menu itself. Now, if you have troubles with other configurations and binaries, please report!

question: how could i pack an elf that would give the same result as sjcrunch would?

    ps2-packer -p lzo in.elf out.elf

i tried that but it didnt work, it said it couldn't find the module... how do i pack w/lzo module?

nvm, i got it to work

    ps2-packer in.elf -p lzo-packer -s lzo-0088-stub out.elf

its weird, i compressed the same elf in sjcruncher and it = 310KB, using this = 375KB

    i wonder why its bigger?

it would rather be something like:

    ps2-packer -s stub/lzo-0088-stub -p ./lzo-packer.dll in.elf out.elf

I'll add later some better "module name" support Now I was just going after algorithms.

I must be missing something , I can't seem to use the new nbx stubs to compress, you got an example commandline since I must be retarded
