A few days ago, Megaman released Version 2 of his PS2-Linux Live-DVD.

    The Live-DVD is based on Megaman's RTE "Kernel-Loader 2.2" and "deba5ers BlackRhino-distro 0.8" and includes extra-apps.
These versions fixed tons of problems, compared to their older deviants.
Both, the Linux-RTE and deba5ers distro are projects which are still in development, so it is very possible that another new version of the Live-DVD will be available someday also.

    In-Action-Video: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuK8CO5QzV4"]YouTube - PS2 Linux Live DVD v2[/ame]

The Live-DVD is there to give people a way, to easily start linux.
It is slower than starting Linux from other devices, but it gives a good preview and is still quite useable.

If you're interested in helping out the PS2-Linux-Community, just take a look at the PS2-Linux-Subforum,right here at PSX-Scene.

There are only a few people, which actively contribute to the PS2-Linux-Scene nowadays and there is a lot potential left, so hopefully this preview can encourage a few more people to do something there.
The scripting in Linux is a relative easy way to get into programming, for those interested in it.

Read more about it in the release-thread (Release: PS2 Linux Live DVD Version 2).

No Fair, the PS2 still has Linux!

And my PS3 still does NOT!

Maybe it's time to duct-tape my PS2 onto the top of my PS3, and wire in a PS2 video to HDMI onto an auto-video-switcher. -- If I knew how to use photoshop, I make up a cute picture to show off my Linux-enabled PS3, via my duct-taped on PS2!

Very nice that I can run Linux on my PS2, and it is so easy...Just burn DVD and you are all set up....
I wish it could be so easily when it was released linux kit...
Do not know, but maybe when PS2 Linux will have also possibility to run "Windowmaker" as desktop environment, maybe it will attract more interest to it?

Anyway Linux for PS2 is awesome...
